He is a graduate of Appalachian State University and holds a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary.

Eric & Monica Wilson

Eric and Monica's story began at Appalachian State University, where Eric served as President of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and Monica led prayer ministries and small-group Bible studies. That shared foundation of faith grew into a marriage of more than 36 years, and they are blessed with two adult children and two grandchildren. Thirty-one years ago, the Wilsons and 19 other couples helped plant a church. It has since grown to about 2,500 members across five local campuses and more than a dozen international locations.

For over 30 years, Eric held hospital leadership roles, helping healthcare systems across the state optimize operations and prevent organizational failure, and he gave his evenings and weekends to ministry. In 2021, he moved into full-time pastoral work and now serves as the Care Ministry and Housing Pastor at Steele Creek Church. Monica's professional background is in psychology and counseling. She founded HOPE Ministry, a network of support groups that address grief, divorce, addiction, post-abortion healing, young motherhood, blended families, mental health, and marital struggles. She also leads the Women's Ministry, directs the Women's Discipleship Team, and serves on the board of Charlotte Marriages because she's passionate about supporting couples at every stage of life.
